Unboxing [UK]: Sword Art Online II - Part 1: Collector's Edition (BD/DVD)

Last year I picked up the very expensive Aniplex of America sets for Sword Art Online Season 1. This year I decided to go with the Anime Limited sets for Season 2 (saves me money huzzah).

Here's a look at the first part of four for Sword Art Online II.

Sword Art Online II is the second season of the franchise following Kirito as he ventures onto another VRMMORPG to investigate the appearance of Death Gun. While I agree amongst many that Season 1 did fall flat during its second half, Gun Gale Online returns to its roots with a new world, good female character and the fear of death.

Sword Art Online II is split into three story arcs this time around. The first half of the series covers the Gun Gale Online arc, and Part 1 is just half of that. Due to Aniplex, Anime Limited had no choice but to go along with the four part release however they were able to bring it out with special treatment. Unlike the poor job that Manga UK put out for Season 1, Season 2 comes with booklets as well as a box, a shiny box in fact. So shiny that my camera can't get a good shot out of it.

Part 1 contains the first seven episodes of the season (01-07) across one Blu-ray and DVD disc. Both discs have English & Japanese audio (with English subtitles) and a Textless Opening. The Blu-ray also contains exclusive on-disc extras. Subtitles are unlockable but the regions are B/2 only.

After being shot in-game by a player calling himself Death Gun, two prominent GGO players have mysteriously turned up dead in the real world.
