Industry News: Funimation's April 2017 Line-Up

A week's delay on this, the blame is primarily due to Funi delisting their line-up the moment it came up plus their site revamped so only US owners could get access to it.

In any case here's the line-up. We have seven new titles and two re-releases. In addition there's one limited edition set.

I've changed the format of my industry news line-up posts. Since I also post them on the Anime UK News forums I figured I'll keep the layout to save me some time. In addition since Funimation have updated their website I can't get access to it but thankfully there's a few sources posting about them.

This line-up pretty much covers titles that aired during the Autumn 2015, Winter 2016 and Spring 2016 seasons. All of them are dubbed, especially Aria the Scarlet Ammo AA and Valkyrie Drive Mermaid which didn't receive one during its simulcast. No DVD only titles thankfully.

Spring 2014:

So yeah, Dragon Ball continues its streak of releases with the remaining episodes of Kai's Final Chapter. This was the worst kept secret for Funimation and many of us knew the dub was done ages ago, and now they're putting them out not long after Toonami's broadcast of the English dub. After doing some research it looks like there will be three parts for Final Chapter, so expect two more parts later this year. As for Dragon Ball Super, I expect Part 1 to begin about a month or two after Final Chapter's final part.

For the re-releases we have a third release of Toriko. The franchise not only flopped for Toei but also for Funimation, despite the apparently good English dub the show has. There are no plans for Funimation to get more episodes so this really should have been part of the S.A.V.E. line. Neptunia is in the S.A.V.E. line now, which is a shame considering I liked the anime.
