Unboxing [US]: Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor - Season 2: Anime Classics (BD/DVD)

So Funimation have announced that their license for Darker Than Black has just expired and because of that the stock for both Season 1 (the DVD version is already OOP, so what's left is the Blu-ray Premium Edition) and Season 2 aka Gemini of the Meteor are going to go out of print as a result. Here I have the Anime Classics release which was brought out around May 2015, the same month that the Season 1 Premium Edition was released.

Anywho, let's see what Chinese Electric Batman is doing.

Darker Than Black: Gemini of the Meteor is the second season to the well-loved Darker Than Black series. The second season follows Yin and Hei once again and it appears the fans honestly hated this season, some have even described Hei turning 'emo'. This will be interesting.

This Anime Classics release contains the entirety of Season 2 with episodes 1 to 12 plus the OVAs set between the seasons (OVA episodes 1 to 4) across 2 Blu-ray discs and 3 DVD discs. The Anime Classics series is basically a re-release with a slipcover and spine designed in a different way - basically you get more titles in the classics line they'll match on the shelf. It's cool but there are fans who just want a normal spine on their shelf. The Blu-ray discs are Region A & B compatible while the DVDs are Region 1 only. The Blu-rays have locked subtitles while the DVD can be unlocked.
